SEI Training Questions and Answers:
Here are some answers to the questions you may have about SEI 45-Hour Course for the State of Arizona:
Q: Who should take the course?
A: Any teacher in Arizona who is working with English Learners. Additionally, your district or school may have the requirement in addition to what is required at the state.
Q: What happens when I purchase a course?
A: You’ll receive a receipt for your purchase. In a separate email, you’ll receive instructions for accessing and getting started with your course. If for some reason you do not receive one or both of these emails, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’ll make sure you get it.
Q: Why take your course over some of the others I find online?
A: We understand that, during these times when your time has become so valuable, you need to be able to do this course on your own time. It is truly a self-paced course. If you need to finish it quickly, this is the course for you. If you want to finish over several months, this is the course for you.
It’s also very teacher-centric. You will learn strategies that can be used in Distance Learning as well as in-person to reach and teach all of your students. It’s also interesting. We teach you strategies through our content and ground them in the cultures of the students you serve. This approach cannot be found in any other SEI course in Arizona.
Q: What happens after I finish the course?
A: You will receive your certificate via email or through the course portal. You will add the endorsement to your certificate by walking (recommended) mailing it into the Certification Unit of the Arizona Department of Education. There are other forms available on the website that you will need to submit with it.
